Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of the top New York establishments, been studying Italian food, its culture and traditions, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." Culinary Institute of America was a great opportunity to pursue a degree. After graduating from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions while in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children who are struggling. She also is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate, where she raises awareness about the condition of children with diabetes. As a speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne has always been grateful she could share the passion that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
